Getting Started

Getting a painting of your pet is easy!
Here's an overview of the process from beginning to end.

1) Tell me about you & your pet
Start out by filling out the Commission Painting Interview Form located HERE
I will use the Painting Interview form to prepare a Painting Commission Agreement that outlines the details of your painting, the time frame to complete the piece, the price, etc....
2) I will prepare your Commission Agreement & send you a copy to review & sign
Once I complete the agreement, I will e-mail you a copy as well as a PayPal invoice. The invoice will be for the initial 50% deposit needed to start your painting. I will also need your photos at this time.
3) Review your Commission Agreement & pay initial deposit
Review, SIGN & mail back the agreement. I will send you a copy for your records. I will also be sending you a PayPal invoice. The invoice will be for the initial 50% deposit needed to start your painting. You should send in your deposit at the same time you return your Commission Agreement.
4) Send me lots of great photos of your pet
This would be a good time to send photos of you pet as well. The best method is digital photos through e-mail. Send as many pics as you would like. The more I have the better I can get to know your baby. You may also send traditional photos through the mail as well. Click HERE for my contact info.

Please be sure to read "10 Pet Photograpy Tips" before sending in your photos. Click HERE to download a copy.

You will need the free Abobe Acrobat Reader to view these tips. Click HERE to download the reader. You will be able to save a copy to your computer for later viewing or printing.
5) I will schedule your painting
Once I receive your deposit, your signed contract & your pics, I can schedule your painting.
6) I begin your design with a preliminary sketch
I will start off your design with a preliminary sketch. I will digitally photograph the sketch & e-mail it to you for your approval. We can work together to make any changes at this point.
After you sign off on the sketch, I will begin the painting.
7) After you approve the sketch, I start painting
Before the painting is completed & sealed, I will e-mail you another digital photo for your approval. At this point we can make minor modifications (such as color changes) before I apply the final sealant.
8) I will e-mail you a final proof of your painting
If there are no further changes, I will seal the painting & e-mail one final digital photo that will serve as the Acceptance of Work photo. Once you approve (in writing - e-mail is fine), I will send you an invoice for the balance due (plus shipping & applicable taxes). Final payment is due within 5 days.
9) I will ship your painting via FedEx insured
Once payment is in, I will ship your painting via FedEx. Your painting will arrive ready to hang or frame & enjoy!
